With the news of Bruza’s injury that may leave him unable to play again I think it’s time to reflect on a great asset to Rugby Union…

I first met Bruce on a very hot sunny day in Cornwall at a game against the Cornish Pirates six years ago when he was the Captain of Northampton Saints which was the same year I joined the Cornish All Blacks (Launceston RFC), being a Northampton born lad my team has always been the Saints and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Luckily the Saints managed to claw back a nine point deficit and win 35-26 although I must admit that I was a little worried when both teams came in at half time with the scores at 19-10 in the favour of the Pirates.

The Saints had been relegated the previous season but dominated the following season in the then league…
